Allowing a safer, more comfortable pregnancy
ChiroPregnancy describes our training in—and commitment to—helping expectant mothers enjoy a more comfortable and healthy pregnancy. The International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) highly recommends Chiropractic therapy be utilized in all 3 trimesters of pregnancy to maintain pelvic balance and optimize space within the womb for fetal development.
Chiropractic during pregnancy improves comfort
During a pregnancy, endocrinological changes occur that could result in misalignment of spine or joints. These include protruding abdomen, increased back curve, changes in pelvic shape, and posture compensation that can increase as the baby grows. Chiropractic sessions during pregnancy help to reduce or eliminate misalignment so that optimum comfort can be realized by both mother and child.
Chiropractic during pregnancy reduces risks
Maintaining pelvic balance and alignment is another benefit of our ChiroPregnancy care. A misaligned pelvis can lead to intrauterine constraint—a condition where the developmental room for the baby is compromised. Intrauterine constraint can also have negative effects on the presentation position of a baby during delivery—leading to complications that prevent a natural, non-invasive birth.
The potential benefits of chiropractic care during pregnancy include:
- Maintaining a higher level of comfort for both mother and baby
- Controlling nausea
- Promote a more natural, faster labor and delivery
- Provide relief of back, neck, joint, and nerve pain
- Prevent potential complications associated with spinal and joint misalignment
